Holding Hope In Our Art - A Mixed Media Journaling Workshop

Hope isn’t passive. It isn’t pretending everything is fine or forcing ourselves to be falsely bright. It isn’t unrealistic optimism that denies the darkness.

Hope is a choice we make each day and is a reminder that darkness is not the whole story.

This workshop gives hope form. It’s not just a feeling we want to receive. It becomes a practice —what we do with this day, this difficulty, this one precious life.

This workshop is not about being positive. You do not have to make cheerful Art in your journal. We will make room for whatever is true. Hope might be bright, but it also may be quiet, hidden, angry, tender, unfinished or a very small light. We are just going to give hope a place to live.

The workshop is four, two hour sessions. Lots of great materials are provided including a large hard cover journal, acrylics, pastels, collage papers, colored pencils, ink pens, needles and thread and more. Of course if you have favorite supplies at home, feel free to bring them.

1500 pesos for all four sessions and supplies. It’s held at Art Connection, on Independencia between Super Lake and the garden center, in San Antonio Tlayacapan..
